Welcome to the first in a series of 3 'How To' Master Class cooking guides ... starring three of Imperial Hotel's most popular dishes.
Watch our videos and learn how to re-create some of our most delicious dishes at home. We're going to share with you the secrets behind an Imperial Hotel starter, a main and a dessert.
Beloved since the 1970s. Imperial Hotel signature dish, Baked Chicken and Ham Pancake, has been a staple on the starter menu for years. And when the chefs thought about a change and took it off the menu, there was a barrage of complaints! It went straight back on, and has stayed there ever since. There was a short daliance with a vegetarian version featuring Goats Cheese and vegetables, but the Chicken and Ham version wins out hands down every time.
Now that we've re-opened, so many of our regular guests have told us how glad they are to be back, and how much they have missed popping into the hotel over the last few months for a tasty lunch or delicious dinner.
We also know that many of our guests who come to stay for holidays and short breaks in Norfolk with us, thoroughly enjoy this dish too, but haven't been able to come away yet this year ... or are very much looking forward to a break in autumn.
And so we got to thinking... what if we share just a few little secrets from our menu with you, so you can have a go at home?
As you know, Head Chef Peter loves the chance to get in front of a camera. He also loves teaching our junior chefs and apprentices the tricks of the trade. And our Night Porter Gavin loves making little films ... it all seemed to come together into one super idea.
And so we bring to you a new little series of 3 films, a 'how to' guide if you like, with details about how to cook 3 of our most popular dishes.
And then when you do make it to Imperial Hotel, you can check and see how the Real McCoy measures up to your cooking at home. You never know, it might become a regular on your meal time menu.
Here in the first of our Master Class Series in the starter - Baked Chicken & Ham Pancake.
Thanks to GDCreatives & Gavin, our talented Night Porter, for topping & tailing our little videos for us!
