Careers At Imperial Hotel
Whether you’re just starting out on your career journey, or you’re looking for a new challenge in a new and exciting environment, we’d be delighted to hear from you. We have a brilliant team of staff, many of whom have been with us for many years. We have team members who have built their hospitality career up from a junior position to a more senior position in almost every department, from the kitchen team to front of house and housekeeping.
Our ethos began with the Hotel's former proprietors, Nick & Aileen Mobbs, who were firm believers in training and education and offered every team member the opportunity to take qualifications and carry out on-line or in-person learning. Grant Smith, who began working at the Hotel cleaning windows in his teens and who is now Hotel Director, was one of those who took up every such opportunity.
Hospitality continues to be a great career for people with a happy disposition and make-it-happen attitude who like to be on their feet and involved with what's going on.
When you join the team at Imperial Hotel, you join our family. It's as simple as that. As a well-established, family-run, friendly, fun, busy and sometimes a bit hectic seafront business, we know how important our team are to us, whether it's pouring drinks, making tea, serving customers, inventing new dishes for menus, doing the washing-up, making sure bedrooms are spotless or answering the phone.
We are always keen to hear from motivated individuals who want to learn the Imperial Way, and get stuck in to providing the best customer service experience in Great Yarmouth from whatever department you join at our hotel. Management is hands-on, and you'll be taught everything you need to know, whatever level you join us at.
Apply to join Great Yarmouth's highest rated 4 star hotel team today and give your hospitality career a boost.
Apprenticeships
We firmly believe in the importance of apprenticeships, learning your trade and working your way up. Hotel Director, Grant Smith, started out as an apprentice at Imperial Hotel many years ago now, and has worked his way through almost every single department, learning the tricks of the trade from housekeeping to accounts, reception to front of house. He's not that bad in the kitchen either! You can read his story on our blog.
Apprenticeships are a great way to learn everything you need to know about a sector, especially the hospitality industry. You achieve an industry-wide recognised qualification at the end of your apprenticeship which will stand you in good stead whatever you decide to do in the future. Apprenticeships at Imperial Hotel are always advertised via the offical government apprenticeship website, and also often on the East Coast College website. Feel free to telephone us to see if there are any apprenticeship vacancies planned. The majority of our apprentices go on to achive a full-time position at the hotel and work with us for many years.
The world can be your oyster with a good apprenticeship as Grant has proven.
